Esther es una inmigrante embarazada que llega clandestinamente a Puerto Rico y queda en la mira de las autoridades. En plena huida se cruza con Arcadio, un hombre con limitaciones intelectuales y un corazón del tamaño de la isla.
Juntos emprenden una travesía por Puerto Rico —tan conmovedora como divertida— con una sola meta: llegar a casa de la tía de Esther, en San Juan, antes de que nazca el bebé.
Dirigida por el cineasta puertorriqueño Arí Maniel Cruz, esta coproducción entre Puerto Rico y República Dominicana usa el humor para hablar de empatía, solidaridad y de esos vínculos inesperados que aparecen cuando la vida cruza a dos desconocidos en el mismo camino.
Esther is a pregnant immigrant who arrives in Puerto Rico without papers and becomes a target for the authorities. While on the run she crosses paths with Arcadio, a man with intellectual disabilities and a heart the size of the island.
Together they set out on a journey across Puerto Rico — as moving as it is funny — with a single goal: to reach Esther's aunt in San Juan before the baby is born.
Directed by Puerto Rican filmmaker Arí Maniel Cruz, this Puerto Rico–Dominican Republic co-production uses humor to talk about empathy, solidarity and the unexpected bonds that appear when life puts two strangers on the same road.
