Description
Turn on lights and heat sources.
Regulate A/C temperature.
Make sure all critters are in their enclosures, go through inventory of animals and supplies. Report and request as needed.
Mist the required species.
Verify humidity, temperature and UVB are up to species specific standards for each enclosure. Regulate and adjust as necessary.
Clean enclosures, animals, and water/food dishes. Disinfect as needed. Including turtle pond and water features.
Prepare food items and feed the animals.
Make sure the area is clean and ready to receive guests.
At the entrance, greet guests and explain the rules before letting them in.
Throughout the day. Check parameters, adjust as necessary. Keep vigilance of guests, their safety, and the animals. Be ready to answer questions and guide through exhibits. Spot clean and feed as necessary. Follow specimen specific enrichment procedures under guidance and supervision of a Herpetologist or supervisor.
At closing. Go through animal inventory. Clean the area. Set A/C for night temperatures. Verify enclosures humidity and temperature, regulate as needed. Mist the required species. Turn off lights and heat sources as needed.
